John's Sanibel Island Real Estate Blog

It seems like Saturday is turning into "Boat Day." But I guess if you are going to live on such a fantastic island you might as well enjoy it. The 19' Aquasport seems to be running quite a bit better so I think I should keep using it. I think if you don't use a boat enough the motor takes revenge on you. Sanibel Lighthouse

Fort Myers Beach My Buddy Scott McPhee and I headed out on another clear day with a slight chop and not many boats in our way. Being Memorial Day weekend we thought it would be much more crowded on the waters. The picture at the left shows a few people having fun and enjoying the sun on Fort Myers Beach.

We ended up having lunch at a place called Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, but the story of the day was the "touristy" pirate ship located just off the restaurant (Salty Sams Marina). This ship is decked out in everything you would hope to find in a Hollywood-type ship. Pirate Ship

Pirate Cruise The ship takes people out on a 90-minute themed cruise with captain and crew dressed in colorful pirate costumes. Lots of parents and kids were taking advantage of the "open house" or I guess you would call it "open boat" day. They charge $25 for adults (14+ up)  and $20 for kids (under 2 is free). This would be a fun trip for your kids if you are ever looking for something to do. Click Here for their website. We also noticed a full bar onboard so maybe this could be fun for an adult sunset cruise too.

So that's it for another day on the water. We have our own boat so we didn't need to sign up for a tour on the tourist pirate ship. It's always fun to get out on the water for a few hours. Slightly sunburned and a full stomach is a good way to end the day.

Back on a real estate note (after all, that's what I do), the market is still fairly active and buyers seem to be happy with our new world of "Adjusted Prices." Give us a call and we can find just the right property for you. If you are interested in waterfront propertly we can even get you out in our little Aquasport and give you the view from the water!

Have a great day!
